This 2nd IEEE PES international conference and exibition Innovative Smart Grid Technologies is organized in cooperation with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Manchester. The Conference will be an international forum for the participants to address and discuss the state-of-the-art innovation in smart grids. The Conference will feature sessions, panels and tutorials by international experts on smart grids. Submission of extended abstracts will close on 30th April 2011. |

Microgen II - the 2nd International Conference in Microgeneration and Related Technologies

The theme of the Microgen conference is enabling a highly distributed energy future, focusing on the potential and role in future energy systems of thermal and electrical microgeneration technologies such as PV, solar thermal, heat pumps, micro CHP (including fuel cells), biomass boilers and micro wind.

This conference is a major event for the DER network integration community and covers Australia, Japan, North America and Europe. DERlab members have been supporting its organizing since its beginning.
The 4th conference was held in 6 - 10 December 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA). DERlab was the co-organizer of a workshop "R&D Collaboration for DG-Ready Grid Architecture" (see the workshop programme here [62 KB]
). The challenges, the research and different strategies were discussed with examples from all around the world. What is needed for the transformation of traditional grid architecture and operation to a DG-ready grid with a high level of distributed generation resources?
